Students: Students are in their 2nd or 3rd year at UT Law. Non-profit public interest organizations select their own student interns.
Selection: Typically four to six students receive scholarships ranging from $4000–$4500. Recipients are selected based on their academic credentials, commitment to public service, and the sponsoring organization. A student is only eligible to receive this scholarship once.
Placements: Students must work for a non-profit organization under the supervision of an attorney providing legal services to underserved individuals or communities in central Texas. Students work a minimum of 300 hours at their placements.
Timeframe: Students must complete their hours during the academic year for which the scholarship was awarded.
Credit: Students cannot earn academic credit for their work.
