Who May Participate

Any student currently enrolled at The University of Texas School of Law may participate in the Mithoff Pro Bono Program. Students are encouraged to participate in pro bono projects beginning their first year of law school. LLM students and visiting students are also encouraged to participate in the Mithoff Pro Bono Program.

The Mithoff Pro Bono Program has established the following benchmarks for student pro bono participants:

  1. 10 hours of pro bono service by the end of 1L year
  2. 30 hours of pro bono service by the end of 2L year
  3. 50 hours of pro bono service by the end of 3L year

All student participants will become eligible for recognition by the Mithoff Pro Bono Program upon attaining these benchmarks. LLMs will become eligible for recognition upon performing 20 hours of pro bono service.
