Jeff Civins
Term: 2008 — 2011

Mr. Civins graduated from Brandeis University with an AB degree in chemistry and from Penn State with a masters of science in chemistry. He taught science in New York City at public and private schools before attending UT Law School with his wife Katy. Mr. Civins graduated from UT with honors and was a member of Order of the Coif.
Mr. Civins has practiced all aspects of environmental law since 1975 and has been at Haynes and Boone since 1998. Mr. Civins has been an adjunct professor at the Law School for over 15 years, and is co-editor and a contributing author of Thomson West Publishing’s Treatise on Texas Environmental Law. He is a frequent speaker and author on environmental law topics. He and his wife are founding Keeton Fellows and are members of the Dean’s Roundtable. Mr. Civins holds memberships in the: Environmental and Natural Resources Law Section, State Bar of Texas (Past Chair of the section and standing Chair, Annual Texas Environmental Superconference); College of the State Bar; American Bar Association, Sections of Environment, Energy, and Resources and of Litigation; Texas Bar Foundation; and Board of Communities-In-Schools, Central Texas Chapter (President of Board of Directors).
Mr. Civins and his wife Katy have two sons, Conor and Braden. Conor and his wife Mary Emma also are UT Law graduates, Class of 2003, and Braden just completed his first year at the Law School.
