In recent years, more than 98 percent of UT Law graduates were employed within nine months of graduation or enrolled in graduate school. The statistics below are based on the Classes of 2006, 2007, and 2008 combined.

- In recent years, more than 30 percent of students have secured postgraduate employment outside of Texas. Over the past three years, UT Law graduates have chosen employment in 34 states with the most prevalent out-of-state opportunities in New York, California, Washington, DC, and Illinois.
- UT Law graduates also landed jobs overseas in China, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.

- Law Firms Hiring UT Law Graduates (PDF): List of more than 300 law firms that hired UT Law graduates from the Classes of 2006, 2007, and 2008 combined. Noted are those firms on the AM Law 200, which is a list of the top 200 grossing law firms in the U.S. as published by American Lawyer. UT Law graduates were hired by each of the top 25 law firms, along with nearly 70 additional firms on the list.

- Courts Hiring UT Law Graduates (PDF): List federal, state, municipal and international courts that hired UT Law graduates from the Classes of 2006, 2007, and 2008 combined.
- UT Law is one of the top law schools to place graduates on the U.S. Supreme Court. A 2008 UT Law graduate will serve as a clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy during the 2009 term.
- More than 60 UT Law alumni currently sit on the bench. These include justices on the Supreme Courts in Texas, Oklahoma, and Virginia; as well as judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Seventh Circuits and U.S. District Courts in Texas, California, Alabama, and Iowa.

- UT Law graduates have been awarded Bristow Fellowships and Presidential Management Fellowships.
- Each year UT Law hosts Public Service Career Day, which is the largest public service job fair for law students in Texas.
- UT School of Law is a founding member of PSLawNet, a valuable resource for finding job opportunities in the public service sector.
