The University of Texas at Austin
Requesting Reciprocity
GRADUATE JOB BANK

Graduates from other law schools may purchase a subscription to the UT Law Graduate Job Bank, which is available online via Symplicity, without having to request reciprocity for this service. The fee for a three-month subscription is $25.

If you are a UT Law student or alumni
The CSO will request reciprocity on your behalf to any ABA-accredited law school. Please note that the South Texas College of Law, University of Houston Law Center and Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law will honor a request to only one of these schools in the Houston area. Also, Arizona law schools generally will not grant reciprocity due to the high volume of requests that they receive. Before making your request, please read the reciprocity policies of the NALP member law schools as each school has its own reciprocity policy.

You may then submit your request online for up to four schools. If reciprocity is granted, students/alumni should be sure to honor the reciprocity policy of the host school(s).

If you are a student or graduate from another law school
The University of Texas School of Law Career Services Office grants reciprocal services to students and graduates of ABA-accredited law schools that accord reciprocal services to UT Law students and graduates.

If you would like to establish reciprocity with The University of Texas School of Law, contact the career services office of your law school and request a letter be sent by e-mail to csojobs@law.utexas.edu requesting reciprocity.

Reciprocity, if granted, will be for a three-month period from the date of approval, excluding blackout periods. Please provide us with the approximate dates you will be visiting our office. You must wait until you have received a copy of our letter granting reciprocity before visiting our office, and must bring the approval letter and a photo ID with you.

In the case of schools that only permit reciprocity on a one-to-one basis, we will limit the number of referrals in the same manner.

Reciprocity includes access to CSO Library Resources (handouts, employer binders, directories, books and periodicals) and on-site viewing of CSO Job Bank.

Reciprocity does not include the following: individual career counseling, resume or cover letter review, access to password-protected online resources on the CSO Web site, and use of the fax machine or copier. Visitors may not borrow or remove reference materials from the CSO Resource Library.

Blackout Periods: Reciprocity will be unavailable during the summer, fall (July 1 through November 30) and spring (all of February) recruiting periods. CSO resources are only available to UT Law students and alumni during these periods.
