Bar Study Loans

Bar study loans are credit-qualified private loans intended to help cover expenses incurred after graduation while a student prepares for the Bar exam.

You may apply for a Bar Study Loan if you are enrolled at least half time in your final year of study at an ABA-accredited law school, or have graduated from one within twelve months.

You must sit for the bar exam no later than 12 months after graduation.

You must be a U.S. citizen or a non-citizen permanent resident without conditions and with proper evidence of eligibility, or an international student borrowing with a creditworthy cosigner who is a U.S. citizen or non-citizen permanent resident. Depending upon your credit rating, you may be required to apply for the Bar Study Loan with a cosigner.

It is extremely important that you check your credit rating before applying, to ensure your information is accurate and up to date.
