UT School of Law Laptop Program

Welcome! The Law School’s laptop program enables incoming and current law students, faculty, and staff to purchase high-quality laptops at lower prices. There are two custom websites available.

The Dell Laptop Program web site offers configurations including the new Dell Latitude D430, D630, and D830.

The Apple web site offers configurations including the MacBook and MacBook Pro.

The Law School’s Dell Laptop Program

These configurations are available online at the Dell Laptop Program web site.

To have a Dell laptop serviced:

  • Call 1 (800) 274-1410
  • Explain your problem to the support representative.
  • Be prepared to provide the support representative with the following information:
    • Your system’s Service Tag Number.
    • The names and versions of installed operating systems; the operating system that was running when the problem occurred.
    • Peripherals being used.
    • Any error messages and/or beep codes received and when they occurred.
    • What you were doing when the problem occurred.
    • What steps you have taken to resolve the problem, including the results from the diagnostic tests.
  • If onsite service is required, notify the service representative that you would like to have the service performed at the Law School.
  • On the day the service is scheduled, bring your laptop to the help desk in the Computer Learning Center in the Law Library and complete a liability waiver form.
  • Your serviced laptop will be ready for pick up later the same day.

The Law School’s Apple Laptop Program

Offering the new MacBook and MacBook Pro.

These configurations are available online at the Apple web site.

To have an Apple laptop serviced:

  • Call 1 (800) 800-2775
  • Explain your problem to the support representative.
  • Be prepared to provide the support representative with the following information:
    • Your system’s Serial Number.
    • The names and versions of installed operating systems; the operating system that was running when the problem occurred.
    • Peripherals being used.
    • Any error messages received and when they occurred.
    • What you were doing when the problem occurred.
    • What steps you have taken to resolve the problem, including the results from any diagnostic tests.
  • Drop-off service is available at the Campus Computer Store or any Apple retail location.
