The Society Program

UT Law School has a large student body, which has its advantages. We have a diverse faculty and offer an extensive range of electives. We also have an extensive network of alumni throughout the country and around the world. The Society Program was introduced in 2004 to build a sense of community within the school and to allow students to interact in small groups with the faculty.

There are eight societies in all, with approximately 110 students in each society. The societies are named for people closely associated with the Law School, such as Gloria Bradford, the first African American female to graduate from UT Law, and Leon Green, a 1915 graduate who was one of the Twentieth Century’s most important torts scholars. Each society has a faculty advisor and a student program coordinator who plan activities for their groups. The groups’ activities vary, but every society has social, academic, professional, and public service events. For more detailed information about society news and activities, please see the Society Program’s newsletter, "The Society Page."
