Ms. Prather is a member of the Texas, California and New York bars. In addition to her private practice, she serves as the program attorney on the national television show Christina's Court. She also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas School of Law in Media and Entertainment Law. Ms. Prather works on open government efforts as a member of the Texas Association of Broadcasters' Legislative Task Force and the Legislative Advisory Committee of the Texas Daily Newspaper Association and the Texas Press Association. On a national level, Ms. Prather serves on the editorial board of the American Bar Association's Litigation Magazine and as a co-chair of the American Bar Association's First Amendment and Media Litigation Committee. On a statewide level, Ms. Prather was appointed by the Governor of Texas to serve on the Personal Privacy Task Force. She is also the treasurer of the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas and a member of the Council for the State Bar of Texas Entertainment & Sports Law Section. Locally, she is active in community affairs and serves on the board of directors for public television station, KLRU, and on the advisory board for the Center for Child Protection. Ms. Prather is a 1998-1999 graduate of Leadership Austin. She was chosen as a Rising Star in the Legal Field by the Austin Business Journal in 2004, as one of the top 10 "Up-and-Comers on the Texas Legal Scene" by the Texas Lawyer for the year 2000, and was selected as the "Lawyer of the Year in Austin Under 40" in 2001. In 2005, she was awarded the Special President's Award by the Texas Association of Broadcasters for her contributions to the broadcast industry.
