Biography

Mary R. Crouter is Assistant Director of the William Wayne Justice Center for Public Interest Law at the Law School and teaches judicial and legislative internship courses. Prior to joining the faculty, she worked for fourteen years for the Texas Office of the Attorney General as an Assistant Attorney General on the Opinion Committee drafting attorney general opinions and providing legal advice to state and local officials on state and federal public law issues. Crouter also clerked for the Honorable William A. Norris on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and worked as a litigator at the law firm of Williams and Connolly in Washington, D.C. Before attending law school, she served as a fellow for the California State Assembly Judiciary Committee.
