Areas of Specialty

Dean Sharlot joined the faculty in 1969, becoming Dean in 1995. His scholarly work has been in the areas of criminal law and evidence. He is the co-author of several books, including Courtroom Handbook on Texas Evidence (West, 4th ed., 1997), Criminal Law: Cases and Materials (West, 4th ed., 1996), and Texas Practice Guide to the Texas Rules of Evidence (two volumes) (West, 2nd ed., 1993). He has been Visiting Professor of Law at the University of California at Berkeley, and is a member of the American Law Institute.
