The University of Texas School of Law students may add the cost of a new laptop computer, up to a maximum of $4,000, to their educational budget. This is for financial aid purposes and may be done only once during their law school career.
In order to qualify, you must provide a copy or your purchase receipt to the law school Financial Aid counselors. If you have borrowed the maximum in a Federal Loan ($20,500) for the year, the additional cost will have to be covered by an increase to your current Graduate Plus loan or you would need to apply for a new loan. For first year students, purchases must be made after Aug. 1 to be valid.
