The Law School offers scholarships* to students in amounts ranging from $2,500 to full tuition and fees with a stipend per academic year. Over 50% of the entering class have been awarded scholarships in the last three years.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of scholastic merit and/or financial need. Some awards include a competitive Non-Resident Tuition Exemption (NRTE) that entitles the recipient to pay tuition at Texas resident rates. The majority of students who receive these scholarships are notified in writing within two weeks of receiving their admission offer letter. First-year students are automatically considered for scholarships and no separate application is required.

* In accordance with Law School policy, students who withdraw from school before the end of the semester are required to repay the total amount of their scholarship.
In 2012, 57% of the entering class received merit-based scholarship and 66% of the class received need-based grants and loans.
