Book Review:
Welsh S. White, The Question of Negotiated Pleas (reviewing
Arthur Rosett & Donald R. Cressey’s Justice By Consent: Plea
Bargains in the American Courthouse (1976)), 55 TEXAS L.
REV. 185 (1976).
Abstract:
In this book review, Professor White advocates a wide reading of
Justice By Consent, noting that its authors provide a clear,
well-written introduction to the role of plea-bargaining in our
system of justice. Professor White predicts that the work will
prove useful to students who want to gain a rudimentary
knowledge of this important phenomenon, but those who wish to
acquire a deeper understanding of pea bargaining and its effect
on our system of justice should look elsewhere.
