“In Memoriam—Irving L. Goldberg” is a collection of essays
honoring the late Judge Goldberg, who served on the Fifth
Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals from 1966 to 1994. The essays are
authored by Judge Patrick Higginbotham, former clerk Diane P.
Wood, and Professor Lee M. Simpson. Judge Goldberg was involved
in significant cases such as Roe v. Wade, Rodriguez v. San
Antonio Independent School District, and Graves v. Barnes.
He is remembered as a collegial and courteous man who was
committed to civil rights.
