In Memoriam:
Lee M. Simpson, A Tribute to Judge Irving L. Goldberg, 73
TEX. L. REV. 981 (1995).
Judge Goldberg is remembered for the two thousand cases he
participated in, the eight hundred opinions he wrote, and the
style and grace he added to the writings of three judge and per
curiam panels. More importantly, he is remembered as a
tremendous influence on the people he knew. As a result, he
improved the courts and the law. Simpson remembers that “he
genuinely liked and truly respected colleagues of all points of
view on the court . . .” and recalls his “fanatical concern
about judicial integrity and the reality and appearance of
propriety.” These habits of his made him a stellar judge and an
object of admiration and respect.
