Abstract:

When federal sovereign immunity and the judicial contempt power conflict with one another, federal courts have disagreed on which doctrine should trump.  This Note resolves this dilemma after examining how each doctrine promotes the separation of powers and exploring the specific factual contexts in which this problem has arisen.
