TALA provides free legal & accounting advice to artist & arts organizations that can't afford to pay. TALA has two spots open for internships and is hoping to fill them in the next few weeks. The internship would be for this summer in Houston.

Mr. Smith is a screenwriter and lawyer (NYU LAW '98) living in Austin, He is an award winning writer, and, most recently, wrote a story for Walt Disney Pictures and Spike Lee's 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks

"I'm Contacting you because I periodically have projects that might intrest bright students who want to pursue careers in entertainment or Entertainment Law. These would be unpaid project, but they'd provide a good chance to gain experience. I'd try to find projects that matched both my needs and a student's interests, but sample projects are:

  • Research and prep for story pitches
  • Research and prep for writers and producer deal negotiations
  • Problem solving - for deals and stories - that accounts for both legal and extralegal concerns (e.g., practical constraints, relationship issues, etc.)
  • Annotating stories that are bassed on actual people or events"
