People’s Law School offers free legal education, February 26, 2011

WHAT: People’s Law School
WHEN: Saturday, February 26, 2011, orientation begins at 8:30 a.m.
WHERE: The University of Texas School of Law, 727 E. Dean Keeton Street, Austin

Orientation begins at 8:30 a.m. Classes start at 9:00 a.m. Information including directions, a list of classes offered, and how to register online, can be found on the People’s Law School web page on the Austin Bar Association’s web site, or call 472-0279, x108.

UT Law’s Tarlton Law Library tour will begin at noon.

The People’s Law School is a free program held at the University of Texas School of Law designed to educate the community about common legal issues. Classes are held during three sessions: 9:00 a.m., 10:30, and noon. Dozens of volunteer attorneys and legal experts will be on hand to teach the basics of the law and answer general legal questions. More than four hundred people are expected to attend the half-day seminar, which offers classes in more than thirty subjects such as family law, wills and estate planning, criminal law, credit repair, the legal process, and more. The event is free and open to the public.

Preregistration is not mandatory; please feel free to register at the door.

This year’s People’s Law School was organized by the Austin Bar Association in partnership with the School of Law’s Student Bar Association.
