AUSTIN, Texas – The Career Services Office at the University of Texas School of Law will host its fifth annual mentor reception, Cocktails & Conversation, Thursday, Oct. 10, at Austin's Shoreline Grill at 5:30 p.m. It is an opportunity for law students to network and seek advice from alumni and friends of the Law School about being a practitioner.

Nearly 100 alumni and friends of the Law School are expected to attend the reception and offer advice to law students about working in the real world and how alumni have chosen and pursued their career paths. Alumni from the corporate, government, alternative, judicial and public interest sectors as well as solo practitioners and attorneys from small, midsize and large law firms will attend the reception.

"This is a great opportunity for students to visit our accomplished alumni and friends to get valuable career advice and possible leads," said Kathryn Holt Richardson, '95, Assistant Dean for Career Services, "and for alumni to meet the next generation of lawyers."
