AUSTIN, Texas The University of Texas at Austin will light the Tower Wednesday, May 7, in honor of the fourth national title won by the UT Law team at the tenth annual Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition.
Defending champion, third-year law student Rebecca Jackson, won her second national title, and second-year student Adam Harbin won the Garvey Schubert & Barer Award as the Best Oral Advocate in the Championship Round.
The Tower will be lighted with an orange shaft and white top. ‘#1’ will be displayed in recognition of the team’s outstanding academic achievement. This is only the third time UT-Austin has lighted the Tower to honor UT Law. It had previously been lit for the Tournament of Champions mock trial national championship team in 2000 and the National Mock Trial championship team in 1999. This is the first time UT has lighted the tower for a Moot Court national championship team.
