AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Mexico Bar Association (TMBA) UT student chapter will hold the First Annual TMBA Student Conference on Thursday, Oct. 16, from noon-5pm. The conference will host two panel discussions on various issues including corporate transactions, border issues, the representation of Mexican nationals, and the differences between the U.S. and Mexican legal systems and legal educations.
Students can register for the free conference at the Charles Francis auditorium in the Law School. Same day registration is allowed.
The TMBA has its headquarters at University of Texas School of Law. A group of law students and faculty advisors have established the TMBA Student Chapter. The purpose of the TMBA Student Chapter is to promote an understanding of the legal systems and cultural differences between law students and attorneys from Mexico and the United States.
As members of the TMBA Student Chapter, law students will exchange legal information concerning different areas of the law, such as commerce law, investment law, and immigration law. The TMBA Student Chapter will assist law students to understand the development of legal services, which help provide solutions to the legal issues regarding Mexico and U.S. relations.
