The University of Texas at Austin School of Law to Unveil Jamail, Reasoner Statues and Announce Significant Gift
EVENT: The University of Texas at Austin School of Law will celebrate the unveiling and dedication of statues honoring Texas legal legends and alumni Joseph D. Jamail and Harry M. Reasoner and announce a significant gift to the law school at a reception. Jamail, B.A. 1950 and J.D. 1952, and Reasoner, J.D. 1962, are Houston attorneys. Law School Dean William Powers, Jr., along with alumni, friends and faculty will attend the unveiling of the life-size, bronze statues by sculptor Lawrence M. Ludtke, whose portrait and figurative sculptures are represented in prominent institutions across the United States.

BACKGROUND: Jamail is most known as the attorney who won the landmark verdict in Pennzoil v. Texaco. In all, he has amassed more than $13 billion in verdicts and settlements for his clients. Reasoner has distinguished himself as one of America's top trial lawyers and one of the world's leading litigators. He is the former managing partner at Vinson & Elkins, the third largest law firm in the United States.
