UT Law Students and Lexis-Nexis Donate 1,008 Pounds of Food to Food Bank

AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas at Austin School of Law today announced that its Student Bar Association, the Women's Law Caucus, and Lexis-Nexis sponsored a canned food drive that donated 1,008 pounds of food (806 meals) and $46 in cash to Capital Area Food Bank.

"I'm delighted to announce these results. Our students, through their generosity raised almost double what most elementary schools in the area raised this year," said Annie Holand, President of the Student Bar Association.

The Capital Area Food Bank, which opened in 1981, distributes more than 15 million pounds of food and grocery products each year. These items serve more than 340 non-profit human and social service partner agencies. Partner agencies report that 20 to 100 percent of their food comes from the Capital Area Food Bank.
