Justice Mack Kidd
AUSTIN, Texas — The Honorable Mack Kidd of the Texas Third Court of Appeals died unexpectedly in Austin on Mon., Jan. 3, at the age of 63. Known for his good-natured demeanor and competitive spirit, Justice Kidd was a 1964 graduate of The University of Texas School of Law.
A service honoring the life of Justice Kidd will be held Thurs., Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church at 901 Trinity. Interment and a reception will immediately follow at the Texas State Cemetery at 909 Navasota.
“Mack Kidd was a great friend of our Law School and a great judge. His death is a loss for the Law School community and the state of Texas. We will miss him greatly,” said Bill Powers, dean of the University’s School of Law.
The family has created the Justice Mack Kidd Scholarship Fund and asks that contributions be made in lieu of flowers and sent to The University of Texas Law School Foundation, 727 E. Dean Keeton St., Austin, Texas, 78705.
