25th Annual Banquet: "Our Legacy Begins Today"
AUSTIN, Texas — The Thurgood Marshall Legal Society (TMLS) at The University of Texas School of Law will host the 25th Annual Thurgood Marshall Legal Society Banquet on Friday, March 31, at 6 p.m. in the Connally Ballroom at the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center.
Alphonso Jackson, the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, will deliver the keynote address. He will discuss why he decided to become a lawyer, his entry into politics after a career in law, and the responsibility of African Americans to give back to their communities.
This year’s event, themed “Our Legacy Begins Today” will honor some of UT Law’s most distinguished African American alumni, recognize the accomplishments of our current African American students, and honor the winner of the Heman Sweatt Essay Contest for High School Students.
