Public Hearings at UT Law: Lockups, Native American Detention Facilities and Texas Penal Systems, March 26-27

AUSTIN, Texas -The National Prison Rape Elimination Commission (NPREC) will conduct public hearings on the problem of sexual violence in lockups and Native American detention facilities on Monday, March 26, and Tuesday, March 27, at The University of Texas School of Law. The hearings will be held in the Eidman Courtroom from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

The Commission will also hear testimony from representatives of the Texas criminal justice system and others in an examination of the recent Texas Youth Commission scandal, as well as the Texas Department of Criminal Justice's response to the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003
