Texas Law Fellowships hosts fall auction to fund public interest work

Students, faculty, and staff can mingle with the Austin legal community and support student public interest work at the Texas Law Fellowships Fall Auction on Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cedar Street Courtyard at 208 W. 4th St.

Proceeds fund fellowships for UT Law students doing public interest work during the summer. Last year TLF was able to fund more than twenty summer fellowships.

The fall auction is TLF’s first fundraiser of the year and is sponsored by Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP.

Professors, local businesses, and legal professionals have donated valuable items to be auctioned off to the highest bidders during both live and silent auctions. Among the items up for auction are gift certificates for local businesses and restaurants, group lunches and dinners with professors and local legal practitioners, and various entertainment packages.

Tickets for the auction are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the Law School through Thursday, November 8, in the Susman Godfrey Atrium at a TLF ticket table.

Texas Law Fellowships is a student-run, nonprofit organization that has funded hundreds of students working in the public interest since its founding in 1986.
