Central Texans are invited to attend free legal classes at People’s Law School on Saturday, February 23, 2008, at The University of Texas School of Law. Lawyer volunteers from the Austin Bar Association will be available to speak about thirty areas of the law, including small business issues, identity theft, wills & estate planning, constitutional law, Social Security, and more.
Participants can choose to attend up to three classes, each featuring one topic. The classes, taught by local attorney volunteers, last seventy-five minutes and include a question and answer session at the end.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with an orientation featuring the Honorable Darlene Byrne, Judge, 126th District Court and ends at 1:15 p.m. More than 4,000 people have attended the event in its fourteen years.
Advanced registration is encouraged to ensure class availability, but same-day registrants are also welcome. For more information or to register online, visit http://www.austinbar.org/pages/PLSmain.
