Law School hosts events for children and teens as part of Explore UT, “The Biggest Open House in Texas”

The University of Texas School of Law will host several events on Saturday, March 7, as part of Explore UT, an annual event that brings kindergarten through twelfth-grade students to the University of Texas campus to learn about the educational and other opportunities it offers. The Law School’s Explore UT  events schedule is as follows:

Looking at the Law: Exploring the Tarlton Law Library and the Hyder Collection
Get a first-hand look at the resources at one of the nation’s largest law libraries and its unique collection of more than 4,000 pieces of art illustrating the history, tradition and majesty of the law.

Animals in Need
The Student Animal Legal Defense Fund will showcase animals in need and introduce members of the public to ways they can become involved in animal advocacy.

Gold E. Locks Mock Trial
Law students perform in a mock trial with Gold E. Locks, a well-known storybook figure, as the defendant. The Honorable Edward C. Prado, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, will preside. Children in the courtroom will be selected to serve as the jurors.

Animal Law 101
The Student Animal Legal Defense Fund will present and discuss legal strategies to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals.
