Austin City Council candidates to face off in Earth Day forum at UT Law, April 22, 2009

Two candidates in a hotly contested race for the Austin City Council Place 1 position will participate in an Earth Day discussion forum on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at the University of Texas School of Law from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Charles I. Francis Auditorium (TNH 2. 114).

Candidates Chris Riley and Perla Cavazos will answer questions from the community on environmental and urban planning issues. The event is free and open to the public.

Hosted by the Law School, the Women’s Law Caucus, and the Texas Law Democrats, the candidate forum serves as a capstone to a series of on-campus activities celebrating Earth Day 2009.

Forum organizers will ask the candidates questions submitted by UT Law organizations and by the general public. To submit questions, or for more information, send an e-mail to txlawdems@gmail.com or contact Jeremy Martin, the chair of Texas Law Democrats, at 513.259.7323.
