Routine Service passports are received approximately 4-6 weeks from the time of application. Expedited Service passports are received 10-14 working days from the time of application.
How long is a passport valid, and when should I renew my passport?
If you were sixteen or older when the passport was issued, then your passport is valid for ten years. If you were fifteen or younger when the passport was issued, then your passport is valid for five years.
If possible, you should renew your passport approximately nine months before it expires. Some countries require that your passport be valid at least six months beyond the date of your trip. Some airlines will not allow you to board if this requirement is not met.
