Religious Freedom and the Constitution, Dean Larry Sager’s most recent book, was co-authored with Chris Eisgruber, provost of Princeton University. It proposes a new way of approaching constitutional questions surrounding some of the nation’s most persistent and divisive legal issues. Chapter Four, “Ten Commandments, Three Plastic Reindeer, and One Nation…Indivisible” can be found at http://www.utexas.edu/law/faculty/lsager/religiousfreedom.html
Professor Sanford Levinson’s Our Undemocratic Constitution considers ways in which this revered document is inconsistent with our democratic values, and urges a public discussion on ways to best reform it.
