The Western Hemisphere's Oldest Professional Fraternity, Founded 1869

Founded in 1869, Phi Delta Phi is one of the oldest professional organizations in the Western Hemisphere. The Fraternity is the second oldest legal organization in continuous existence in the United States and the third oldest in North America.

Phi Delta Phi has active chapters - called Inns - at law schools in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and Poland. Phi Delta Phi has initiated in excess of 191,000 members since its founding in 1869. Over 83,000 living members make it the largest professional legal fraternity in existence whose membership is limited to law students and lawyers. Approximately 3,000 women and men law students are initiated into Phi Delta Phi each academic year.
