About ACS

We are the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy, one of the country's leading progressive legal organizations. ACS is a national organization comprised of law students, lawyers, etc. who are working to ensure that the fundamental principles of human dignity, individual rights and liberties, genuine equality, and access to justice are in their rightful, central place in American law.

Get involved!

Becoming involved with The American Constitution Society at The University of Texas School of Law is easy. The Chapter events are open to all students, staff, faculty, and the public, but the full privileges of membership—including the right to vote, hold an Executive Board position , and attend certain members-only events are reserved for students who are nationally registered members of ACS. Learn more about what you can do here.

If you would like to become a nationally registered member of ACS to enjoy full chapter benefits, you may do so by credit card on the national ACS website. If you join through the national website, please make certain to provide full information, including your law school and class. Please keep a copy of the receipt and/or confirmation number and contact our finances chair (mws@alumni.rice.edu) to notify us of your membership payment.

Also, be sure to check out the Texas Public Interest Calendar on Google for other ways to get involved!
