External Vice President

Emma Quintero

Emma Quintero, a San Antonio native, graduated from Sam Houston State University. She serves as CHLSA’s external vice president, previously serving as secretary. This summer, Emma first interned with the Appellate Division of the State Counsel for Offenders, a part of the state’s prison system, representing indigent inmates appealing convictions. In the second half of her summer, Quintero worked with the Texas Fair Defense Project, a non-profit organization that advocates and litigates for indigent criminal defendants. Quintero has previously interned with the Travis County Juvenile Public Defender’s Office. At UT Law, Quintero also participated in Youth Court and the Law School’s Actual Innocence Clinic.

Duties Include: Advancing recruitment of Hispanic law students and providing community service to the Hispanic community at large; Serves as Executive Chair of the Community Committee and Recruiting Committee; Serves as representative to all organizations or activities that relate to the duties and goals of the office.
