Javier Perez-Afanador

Javier Perez-Afanador, an Austin native, graduated with honors from UT Austin with an American Studies degree, while serving as a resident assistant and lifeguard at Gregory Gym. Today, he serves as CHLSA President, previously serving as Fajita Fiesta chair. Perez-Afanador’s interests are employment law, insurance litigation, and civil rights. This summer, he interned at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund. “CHLSA's tradition of promoting the success of its members is unparalleled and I hope to continue that tradition,” he said.

Duties Include: Primary representative for the Organization; Supervising the affairs of the Organization; Responsible for providing direction and advancing the goals of the Organization. Serves as ex-officio member of all standing committees.
