Each year, CHLSA hosts its annual Cultural Celebration and Awards Banquet. The Banquet is a dynamic gathering of UT Law alumni and Texas leaders, including legislators and judges, as well as members of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus (MALC), Mexican American Bar Association (MABA), and Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA affiliates across Texas.

The next Banquet, “Mujeres en Acción,” will be held March 31, 2012 at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center at The University of Texas at Austin.

According to the Hispanic National Bar Association, Latinas represent only 1.3% of the nation’s lawyers, the lowest representation of any racial or ethnic group as compared to their overall presence in the nation. At the 2012 banquet, CHLSA will honor alumnae and strong Latina leaders in the Texas legal community.
