Mission

Since its establishment in 1976, the Chicano/Hispanic Law Students’ Association (CHLSA) strives to meet the needs of current students and the multicultural needs of the State through non-partisan goals which include:

  • Advance diversity in the legal profession through the recruitment and promotion of Hispanic law students through activities such as, but not limited to forums, panels, lectures, banquets, raising and providing scholarship funds, or other similar programs.

  • Expanding opportunities for Hispanic students at The University of Texas School of Law.

  • Provide community service to the Hispanic community at large.

  • More specifically, but without limiting the purposes stated above, CHLSA is organized and is operated for the purpose of advancing these goals within The University of Texas School of Law and the State of Texas.
