Micah King

Micah King, '14, is the vice president for external relations. He graduated cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis. His thesis research on the emergence of homosexuality into francophone Cameroon's public sphere has been published in a peer-reviewed journal and led him to be called upon for expert testimony on behalf of a lesbian Cameroonian woman's successful asylum case.
During the summer of 2012, Micah is serving as an editor for the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal, and is interning for the Honorable Eric Shepperd as well as the prominent civil litigation firm Savrick, Schumann, Johnson, McGarr, Kaminski & Shirley, L.L.P. This summer he is also aiding an entertainment lawyer in a suit against Apple Inc. that raises a novel legal issue.
Prior to law school, he directed communications for AIDS Services of Austin. A native Texan who grew up largely in the Ozark Mountains, Micah enjoys growing succulents, exploring natural areas, and rowing sweep-oar and sculling boats.
