Benefactors

TLF's success would not be possible without the patronage of many generous supporters.  Benefactors provide support by underwriting the costs of major events such as the Fall Auction and the Excellence in Public Interest Awards.  In addition, they sponsor the t-shirts and hats that are given as incentives during the spring Pledge Drive.  Finally, student contributions made during the Pledge Drive are matched by law firms throughout the country.  

The Firm Matching program was developed in conjunction with TLF's Professional Mentor Bill Whitehurst.  When law students with summer clerkships make donations to TLF during the Pledge Drive they provide the name of the firms they are working for.  In early June Bill Whitehurst personally invites the managing partners of each law firm to match the contributions made by their summer clerks.  Many firms double or triple the amount pledged by their clerks.  During the summer of 2002 we had our most successful firm matching campaign ever and raised over $18,000.  TLF thanks Bill Whitehurst and the following firms for their generous support.
