Greetings!

I am Catherine Moran and I serve as the 2009-2010 President of the Thurgood Marshall Legal Society (TMLS). Let me be honest: I sincerely believe in the promise of this organization. Each day I am emboldened by the dedication of these officers and members to our cause. Through their example, I am more than hopeful—indeed, I am confident that this will be a year like none other!

As an organization, we are currently over 80 members strong and are united in our pursuit to encourage and promote the academic and professional success of our members.  My goal for the organization is to not only advance the academic, social, and career-oriented endeavors of our members but also to instill a greater awareness of the needs of our community.

Throughout the school year, TMLS remains committed to promoting the academic and professional successes of its members through workshops related to resume writing, networking, obtaining judicial clerkships, exam prep, and more.  Additionally, the organization is committed to promoting cultural awareness among the student body and to fostering positive relationships with other organizations within the law school, in the greater university, and in the community. Our members are classroom leaders, top judicial clerks, moot court and mock trial champions, NBLSA leaders and leaders, journal editors and society mentors.  TMLS is truly a driving force at UT Law, and its members display excellence and integrity in all that they do

I have never had a greater honor than serving the current TMLS membership and its remarkable alumni.  I hope that you will come to learn, as I have, about the many treasures the TMLS holds. Please find updates for our activities online through this website, our new website coming soon, and on our Facebook page. Additionally, please feel free to contact me personally with any questions you may have at tmlspresident@gmail.com.

Here’s to an awesome year!
