The Texas Journal of Women and the Law is pleased to announce the availability of Volumes 20 and 21 and the publication of this academic year's Volumes 22:1-2 (2012-2013).

Since the release of Volume 1 in 1990, the Journal has secured its place at the forefront of contemporary legal issues through the publication of articles, essays, notes, and reviews that enhance and maintain discourse on gender concerns. To this end, the Journal aims to expand feminist legal thought and inspire dialogue about legal, social, and political issues affecting women, ultimately enhancing the relationship between theoretical and practical perspectives of gender and law.

Volume 20 (2010-2011) brought many new ideas to the legal community:

  • “Marriage and Law Reform: Lessons from the Nineteenth-Century Michigan Married Women's Property Acts”, by Ellen Dannin;
  • “Gender and Unemployment Insurance: Why Women Receive Unemployment Benefits at Lower Rates Than Men and Will Unemployment Insurance Reform Close the Gender Gap”, by Michelle Mitchell;
  • “Discriminating Because of “Pizzazz”: Why Discrimination Based on Sexual Orientation Evidences Sexual Discrimination Under the Sex-Stereotyping Doctrine of Title VII”, by Olivia Szwalbnest;
  • “Critical Conflicts Between First-Wave and Feminist Critical Approaches to Alternative Dispute Resolution”, by Danya Shocair Reda;
  • “Teens, Technology, and Cyberstalking: The Domestic Violence Wave of the Future?”, by Andrew King-Ries.
  • Articles in Volume 21 will continue to present our subscribers with a legal discourse that both challenges and compels.
