This course is restricted to upper division students only.
Description
This course covers basics of the law of medical practice. After completion of the course, the student will have a useful understanding of a) the language and structure of the medical profession, b) the economic and legal relationships of the components of the health industry, c)the major state and federal laws which impact the practices of medicine, and d) the legal validation and use of medical information, including the science of medicine. The course will be taught from a syllabus prepared by Professor Watts, and the grade will be determined by a single final examination.
