This course is restricted to upper division students only.
Description
This seminar will survey several recent U.S. Supreme Court cases where friend of the court or amicus curiae briefs seemingly played a significant role in framing and/or deciding the issues presented to the court. Students will conduct independent research and prepare a paper focusing on a particular amicus or amici in shaping an appeal.
