Description
This course deals with donative transfers of property.  Included are community property, intestate succession, the execution and revocation of wills, frequently recurring drafting problems, the use of trusts, principles of fiduciary administration, future interests, the rule against perpetuities, powers of appointment, estate and gift taxation, and basic estate planning.  Often, the course focuses on Texas law; indeed, one of the required texts includes the Texas Probate Code.  However, the course also examines the law of other jurisdictions, as well as a variety of Uniform Acts.

Prerequisites:  None.
