Subscribing to the Discussion Listserv
for the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund of Texas

An Internet listserv is a self-maintaining mailing list for electronic mail that is sent to a list of subscribers. Internet users subscribe, or unsubscribe, to lists on subjects that interest them.

There are two listservs for the Texas Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund, or TIF. One is an official listserv moderated by the Department of Information Resources of the State of Texas. The other is an unofficial listserv, unmoderated, for open discussion about the TIF program.

Information about the official TIF listserv moderated by state officials can be found by clicking HERE.

To subscribe to the unofficial TIF discussion list, send an e-mail message to the following address:

Do NOT use a subject line.

In the first line of the message, put the following:

Your subscription will NOT be accepted if you do not provide a name in the form above, as in "John Doe."

Once you send this message, you will receive an e-mail confirmation of your subscription to the TIF discussion list. In this confirmation message you will be given a PASSWORD, with instructions to change this password. IGNORE THIS MESSAGE. Passwords will not be used on the TIF discussion list.

The confirmation message does, however, contain some important information that you should read over carefully, and you should SAVE the confirmation message. The confirmation message will give you the address to which you can send e-mail messages to be posted to the list, or sent to all the list subscribers (this address is different than the one listed above).

If you have any questions about this discussion list, send your questions by e-mail to Gary Chapman at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin, at the address gary.chapman@mail.utexas.edu.

Thank you for your interest in the TIF discussion listserv.
