Policy Research Project at the LBJ School of Public Affairs

A Policy Research Project is the cornerstone of the curriculum for master's degree students at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, the graduate school of public policy at the University of Texs at Austin. The LBJ School is hired by a client, typically a state agency, to research a substantive contemporary policy issue. Students work with the client and faculty directors to complete the research and create a deliverable product for the client

The students who participated in the 1997-98 PRP on EBT and Public Policy have a diverse background and a broad range of experience and knowledge related to information technology and social policy. The Electronic Benefits Transfer PRP was supervised by Gary Chapman, director of The 21st Century at the LBJ School, and Professor Lodis Rhodes. The client was the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. All of the PRP participants were graduate students in the Master's of Public Affairs Program at the LBJ School.
