Bios
Ed Emmett (’74) is the County Judge for Harris County, Texas. Judge Emmett served as a member of the Texas House of Representatives for four terms (1979-1987) representing a district in north Harris County, was confirmed as a commissioner for the Interstate Commerce Commission during the Presidency of George H.W. Bush, and is the past president and chief operating officer of the National Industrial Transportation League.
John O’Brien (‘81) is the Director of the Texas Legislative Budget Board. Mr. O’Brien previously served as the acting director of the Texas Legislative Budget Board, past president of the National Association of Legislative Fiscal Officers, and has volunteered as a mentor to current LBJ students.
Mike Temple (’80) is the Workforce Manager for the Houston-Galvestion Area Council. Mr. Temple manages and directs 25 experienced professionals in planning for and overseeing the public workforce system in the Houston-Galveston region of Texas. This system annually serves 25,000 businesses and more than 375,000 people, with $175 million in operating resources and more than 800 local delivery staff.
