WALSAC hosts July 29 Alumni Happy Hour in Washington, D.C.
The Summer Speakers Series features guest speakers who will enlighten students, alumni and friends of the University of Texas System on issues of domestic and international policy.
The LBJ School of Public Affairs and the Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies (LLILAS) at the University of Texas at Austin will host a joint happy hour for alumni at the Hill Country Barbecue Market on Tuesday, May 31, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Alumni and students working with the Texas State Legislature will gather in the Legislative Conference Center (Capitol Extension Building, Room E2.002) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for a free networking event.
LBJ School Dean Robert Hutchings and the Washington Area LBJ School Alumni Chapter will host an alumni reception in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, November 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
LBJ School Alumna Rajasvini Bhansali (MPAff ’03) will speak at the Texas Union, in the Santa Rita Room at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28 in honor of National Young Women’s Day of Action. Her presentation, titled “We Are All Manorama: Stories of Young Women’s Creativity and Courage from India and South Africa,” is sponsored by Students for the GCS and the Gender and Sexuality Center at The University of Texas at Austin.
The LBJ School Austin Alumni Association and the Graduate Public Affairs Council (GPAC) invite students and alumni to the LBJ School of Public Affairs Fall Leadership Lecture Series featuring Curtis Meadows of the Meadows Foundation on Wednesday, October 27 at 5:30 p.m. in the Bass Lecture Hall. Following the talk, a reception to welcome the new alumni affairs coordinator for the LBJ School, Michelle Potter-Bacon, will take place in the lobby of the School from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
LBJ School Austin Alumni Association welcomes all alumni, faculty and students to a celebration kicking off the new school year
The Washington D.C. area alumni invite LBJ School alumni, faculty, current students and their guests to a small policy dinner on July 20. The theme of this policy dinner will be "Teacher Incentives/Race to the Top."
No preparation is necessary but videos and clippings will be provided before each dinner.

Robert Hutchings, dean of the LBJ School, opened the 2010 LBJ School Summer Speaker Series June 8 in Washington D.C, sponsored by the Washington Area LBJ School Alumni Chapter (WALSAC) and The Archer Center.
Speaking before a group of nearly 60 alumni gathered, Hutchings stressed his commitment to alumni and specifically addressed the D.C. chapter’s unique link to the School.
